Dr Alison Rushton EdD MSc MCSP DipTP MMACP - Editor-in-Chief
Alison qualified from the Middlesex Hospital School of Physiotherapy in 1987. She then worked as a clinical physiotherapist specializing in manipulative physiotherapy. Since moving into education, Alison has worked at Coventry University and now holds the post of Senior Lecturer, Programme Director of the Postgraduate Programmes, and Programme Leader of the MSc Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy at the University of Birmingham. Alison has an MSc in Manipulative Therapy, and a Doctorate in Education from The University of Warwick. She is actively involved in the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) in the UK as Chair of the Committee for Education and Approval. Alison is also Chair of the Standards Committee of the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapists (IFOMT) a sub-group of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy.
Alison was part of the team involved in the conception of the journal that was first published in 1994. Initially she was the Editor of the clinical section of the early publication known as the British Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation (BJTR). Subsequently she moved to the role of Editor-in-Chief as the Journal became established and evolved into the International Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation, reaching out to new markets and fulfilling new development needs for health care practitioners.
Joanna Bakewell - Editor
Joanna studied Physiology at the University of Sheffield before going on to graduate from Kings College London with a Physiotherapy degree. She has been the editor of International Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation since May 2007.
